In shortThe tours on this page are guided trips to Lake Louise and, in season, Moraine Lake, most of them led by a local driver-guide working in English, with one half day from Banff Station listing a multilingual guide. Full days run 8 to 11 hours with pickup and drop-off in Calgary, Canmore and Banff; half days run 4 to 5 hours and start in Banff or Canmore. Take a full day if this is your first time in the Rockies, and a half day if you only want the two lakes and an afternoon left over.

What you get on these Lake Louise sightseeing tours
Every trip on this page stops at Lake Louise and, inside the season, at Moraine Lake. Moraine Lake Road is closed to personal vehicles all year and licensed commercial operators are among the few allowed to drive it, which is why a guided departure is the normal way to stand at the Valley of the Ten Peaks. The dates differ slightly by operator: the CAD 99 small-group tour lists Moraine Lake from June 1 to October 13, the CAD 79 day trip from June 1 to October 11 or 12, the CAD 88 Yoho tour from June 1 to October 11, and the CAD 69 three-lake trip from June 1 to October 12.
Outside that window the itineraries change rather than shrink. Marble Canyon steps in on the CAD 79 day trip and on the CAD 69 trip, the CAD 88 Yoho tour includes admission to Marble or Johnston Canyon or Peyto Lake from October 12 to May 31, and the 4-5 hour tour from Banff Station runs Lake Louise, Emerald Lake and the Natural Bridge from October 13 to May 31. Several of these tours hand out ice cleats or crampons in winter, for use at your own discretion.
Pickup is the practical reason to take one of these rather than organise the transfer yourself. Departure times are fixed and most of them are early: 07:45, 09:00, 09:20 and 09:30 from hotel fronts and parking lots on the CAD 99 tour, 07:50 Calgary Downtown and 09:45 Banff on the CAD 79 day trip, 07:30 am from the Harry Hays Building bus stop on 4th Avenue for the CAD 88 Yoho tour, and 8:00 am, 9:15 am, 9:35 am or 9:45 am on the CAD 88 Banff day tour. Be at your point 10 to 15 minutes early, because the vehicles leave as scheduled.
Which one fits you
First visit, starting in Calgary, Canmore or Banff: the CAD 99 tour, rated 4.9 ★ (4759 reviews), caps the group at 24 people, includes the Moraine Lake entrance fee and special access to both lakes, and drops you back in any of the three towns.
Lowest full-day price: the CAD 69 trip, 4.6 ★ (828 reviews), includes the National Park Pass and the Moraine Lake entrance permit and still covers Emerald Lake, the Natural Bridge and Banff Avenue.
Clearest timetable and a proper lunch break: the CAD 79 day trip leaves Calgary Downtown at 07:50, Canmore at 09:20 and Banff at 09:45, with a 45-minute stop at Lake Louise Village and priced options for snowshoeing or afternoon tea at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
Three lakes and a second national park: the CAD 88 Yoho tour runs 8 to 11 hours, adds Emerald Lake, the Natural Bridge and the Spiral Tunnels country, and lets you pick Banff Avenue or Bow Falls at the end.
Highest rated of the group: the CAD 88 Banff day tour holds 5.0 ★ (540 reviews) and includes admission, an air-conditioned vehicle and coffee or tea, with Johnston Canyon, Surprise Corner and Bow Falls on the stop list.
Half a day only: take the CAD 65 tour from Banff Station if you want a 1:30 pm start or a multilingual guide, and the CAD 63 tour if you are based in Canmore and want pickups as late as 2:00 pm. Both run 4 to 5 hours, so plan to spend your time at the lakes rather than on side walks.
Before you book
- Meeting points in Calgary: the bus stop in front of the Harry Hays Building on 4 Ave SE, opposite the Delta Calgary Downtown Hotel, is used by the CAD 79, CAD 88 Yoho and CAD 69 trips; the CAD 69 trip also lists the riverfront parking area across from the building and the Best Western Premier Hotel at 1316 33 St NE.
- Meeting points in Canmore and Banff: the Travel Alberta Canmore Visitor Information Centre at 2801 Bow Valley Trail, the Elk + Avenue Hotel at 333 Banff Ave, the parking area in front of The Fat Ox of Banff Restaurant, and the Banff Station information centre for the 4-5 hour tour. Other departures wait in front of the hotel or at the hotel parking lot.
- Readiness: 10 minutes before departure on most tours, 15 minutes for the 09:30 parking-lot pickup on the CAD 99 tour and 5 to 10 minutes before the 7:30 am start on the CAD 88 Yoho tour.
- Children: the CAD 99 tour and the CAD 69 trip ask families to bring their own car seat for a child aged 7 or under, and do not supply one.
- Meals: not included on any of these tours. The CAD 79 day trip and the CAD 88 Yoho tour both break at Lake Louise Village, where lunch is at your own expense; the CAD 79 trip provides bottled water and the CAD 88 Banff day tour coffee or tea.
- Gratuities are extra and set out differently: the CAD 88 Yoho tour suggests CAD 12 cash per person, the CAD 79 day trip recommends 15% to 20% per person for the guide or driver, and the CAD 65 half day lists a service fee of CAD 15 per person.
- Luggage: the CAD 63 half day charges an additional CAD 20 per cabin-size bag, so travel light or plan the transfer around it.
- Winter traction: ice cleats come with the CAD 79 day trip and crampons with the CAD 88 Yoho tour and the CAD 63 half day, provided for use at your own discretion and risk.
- All seven tours allow a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
